BIOGRAPHY

Mark Skrzypczak (AKA Skryptd) is a writer, coach, and haiku enthusiast living in Brooklyn, NY. With over 15 years of experience writing, performing, and organizing poetry slams, Mark’s passion has led him to travel all over the United States, sharing his craft. Mark has taught and coached poetry at Hudson Community College, Rutgers University, and Jersey City Slam. Mark has worked with writers from all over the world. Notable students are national slam champions, went viral on YouTube, appeared on Ted stages, and used their skills for professional development. Personal accolades include Pushcart Prize in Poetry Nomination, National Head-to-Head Haiku Finalist, founder of the National Collegiate Haiku Slam, Slam Organizer of the Year Nomination at National Poetry Awards, and event organizer for the Jersey City Poetry Festival. He has a BA in Communications from Kean University, is a former music blogger, loves traveling and Major League Baseball, and works in direct marketing.
